HONOURABLE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA, SHRI NARENDRA MODI, TO RELEASE THE SCINDIA SCHOOL STAMP AS THE SCHOOL CELEBRATES 125 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION

A special Founder’s Day celebration planned on 21st and 22nd October to honour the past, celebrate the present and build the future

As the prestigious Scindia School, celebrates 125 years of raising some of the finest gentlemen, the honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, is set to grace the momentous occasion. He will release the stamp of the school, as a mark of the school’s immense contribution in shaping India’s education landscape with its glorious legacy of value-based education. He will also lay the foundation for a new, state of the art Multipurpose Sports Complex for the school and plant a sapling to mark the occasion, as a symbol of the school’s commitment to continue to nurture the nation’s future. Built atop a historical fort, the Scindia School, celebrates 125 years of excellence in education in the presence of India’s leadership, the school’s illustrious Board, students, faculty, and parents. The two days will witness the coming together of the values that define the school, its century old ethos and strong bonds cherished by every Scindian.

Founded as The Sardar School in 1897 by the visionary HH Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia I, The Scindia School prides in its value-based education model. Education is not limited to the classrooms, with children imbibing important lessons in resilience, integrity, and compassion as they navigate their way from dorms to classrooms. The Scindia School prides in raising independent thinkers who are not afraid to forge their own paths. This reflects in the illustrious alumni network, The Scindia Old Boys’ Association (SOBA), whose members will be arriving in large number to celebrate a grand milestone for their alma-mater.

On this momentous occasion, Mr. Ajay Singh, Principal of The Scindia School, shared his thoughts and said, “Achieving a milestone of 125 years as a beacon of education in India, is no small feat. We have evolved over the years to imbibe the best and latest in global education while staying rooted and grounded in our values. We lay emphasis on learning beyond the classroom, and aim to raise future leaders of tomorrow with a strong moral compass and a sense of belonging to our Indian roots. Mindfulness and sustainability that have only recently emerged as buzzwords along global education corridors have always been a way of life here at The Scindia School.  It is only fitting that Astachal, an evening ritual where all our students spend a calm moment reflecting on their daily thoughts and action while watching the sun set on the horizon, forms the core theme of our Founder’s Day performance.“

On its 125-year celebration, The Scindia School, has also penned a celebratory song that brings alive the spirit of the school and all that it stands for. The Founder’s Day event will witness the debut performance of the newly coined celebratory song, as the school’s extremely prestigious Brass Band matches every note and tune to perfection.

Yuvraj Mahanaaryaman J Scindia, who is also a member of the Board of Governors, shared his thoughts and stated, “This is a very proud moment for us as a family. It is my privilege to continue my family legacy and serve as the youngest custodian of The Scindia School. The school stands tall as a beacon of excellence in academic and extracurricular endeavours, but most importantly prides itself in values that define the school and its glorious legacy of 125 years. Over the years, we have evolved as the school of transformation where young boys are transformed into smart, resilient, compassionate, and passionate young leaders of tomorrow. From Astachal to the Fort Biosphere, better known as the ‘living lab,’ the various unique routines and opportunities offered at the school play an important role in shaping the character of every student. The upcoming celebrations aim to capture and showcase the very essence and philosophy that defines the school, its achievements, and its brilliant student body.”

The Scindia School celebrates its 125th anniversary on this Founder’s Day – 21st and 22nd October 2023 at the school campus, atop the stunning fort in the city of Gwalior.
